Our journey began with a simple frustration: brilliant tech students across African universities were building in isolation, disconnected from real industry challenges, lacking visibility, and missing the community and support they needed to thrive. At the same time, startups were struggling to find tech talent that could grow with them, and investors found it hard to spot early-stage innovation from the grassroots. We saw a gap and turned it into a movement.
Wazo Hive was born to bridge that gap. We’re building an experience-rich platform that connects the entire tech ecosystem — students, recruiters, investors, alumni, and tech lovers — through WhatsApp communities, mentorship hangouts, idea labs, hackathons, and more. In a continent where 2 in every 3 people will be African by 2050, the future of global innovation will be African and we’re laying the foundation to make sure it’s inclusive, bold, and built by those who live the problems they’re solving.
